Young Children Priority One

Read Across PA

Young Children Priority One (YCPO) is an ongoing community service program of Kiwanis International that addresses the needs of children age 0–5. All clubs are encouraged to carry out at least two YCPO projects per calendar year, though many clubs are able to do more—serving children, families and communities. Young Children Priority One focuses on four key areas:

  • maternal and child health
  • child care and development
  • parent education and support
  • safety and pediatric trauma

Read Around the World

Open a child’s mind to reading—all year long! Every child should experience the joy of reading. Kiwanis’ Read Around the World program focuses on sharing the joy of books with young children—from reading with them to providing books they can have of their very own. If you’re interested in learning how you can volunteer with the Read Around the World program, or how you can help get books to children who need them most, contact us.
